In line with promotion and preservation of Meranaw Arts and Crafts initiatives of Raheemah Peace Weavers, on October 2021, the members and volunteers of Raheemah Peace Weavers held a consultations and design conceptualization of development of competency standards and curriculum of area-based skills with selected Meranaw MSMEs weavers and craftsmen in Tugaya, Lanao del Sur. This is with compliance to Halal Standards and also part of the product development program of Raheemah Peace Weavers. The activity was supported by Save the Children Philippines in partnership with Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE-TESDA) BARMM.

One measure taken by Raheemah peace weavers to foster sustainable living among these local entrepreneurs is a consultation with weavers and craftspeople in Tugaya, Lanao del Sur. It is possible to expand the market for their local products by improving and conserving their crafts and culture.

Raaheemah Peace Weavers in its belief, livelihood is an essential aspect in the restoring and rebuilding the lives of the overlooked and untapped MSMEs weavers and craftspeople in the province. Because of the acculturating change in lifestyle of the Meranaw people today, the tradition and culture of the lake are deteriorating. These individuals are constantly addressing the need to revive their crafts and culture and become competitive in the market. The craftspeople in Tugaya have a challenge in terms of how they adapt to and accept change and advancement in their trade.

Through the committed support of Save the Children under the Restoring livelihoods and Learning in Marawi project, Raheemah Peace Weavers are able to provide livelihood trainings, and assistance to these local traders and craftspeople. Together, we are able to guide them and their families to be productive and become self-reliance citizen.
